  • NIIT Takoradi hosts Graduation Ceremony

Over 50 students have successfully graduated from NIIT Takoradi in diverse fields like software Engineering, Network Engineering, Hardware and Network TechnicianIT and Business Skills.

In a speech, Guest of Honour, Mr. David Yaro, representing the Regional Minister for Western Region, praised NIIT for its role in ICT and providing excellent IT education to the Ghanaians.  He urged the students to be role model for others to follow and thanked NIIT for its efforts in bringing the best out of the students. He regarded NIIT as one the best IT education providers in the world and praised NIIT for its contribution to the development of the society.

Speaking at the Ocassion, Dr. Samuel Obeng Apori, Rector, T-Poly complimented NIIT for its uncompromising standards and continued faith in Ghana as shown by its ultra modern centres across Ghana. He noted that Ghana is witnessing an upsurge in the number of private institutions some of whom, are not accredited and sub-standard. He commended NIIT for getting its accreditations in place and setting an example for others.

Special Guest from the Western Region's Attorney General's office, Mr. Samuel Patrick Akuffo  -Senior State Attorney emphasized the fact that the graduands could now use NIIT's specialized qualifications to help move Ghana and their profession forward. He cautioned the graduands to stay away from Cyber-crime and work towards making the profession more ethical.

Mr. Kapil Gupta, Managing Director at NIIT emphasized the need for Ghanaians to put their knowledge for the best use of the society and provide their services for the betterment of Ghana. He praised the students for their hard work and urged the students to move up the ladder in their respective fields. He explained that NIIT trains over 5,000 students a year in Ghana at its five centres at Ring Road, Achimota,  Kumasi, Takoradi and Tema.

He highlighted that NIIT offers diverse programs like internationally recognized diploma programs, BSc Degree from the Open university, United Kingdom and various certificate programs for professionals and freshers alike to meet the requirements of its diverse customer base. He said that NIIT has also submitted BPO/ITeS curriculum framework to the Ministry of Communications which will help position itself as one of the top BPO destinations in the world.
