NIIT Kumasi organized the 4th Annual Graduation Ceremony on 15th of March 2008 at the majestic Great Hall, KNUST. A total of 127 students graduated this year out of which 87 came from the networking stream, 15 from the Software stream and 25 from the Business (NIS) stream. The Chief Guest for the occasion, Nana Kronkohene Baffour Osei Tutu Amofa, representing Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, lauded NIIT for the USD 50,000 scholarship under NIIT 50 @ 50 initiative and the commitment NIIT has shown towards the Ashanti Region.
He commented “I’m happy to note that NIIT has been at the forefront of IT education and trainer since 2000 and maintained high standards across (5) centers. This institution is also the proud winners of numerous awards like Ashanti Region’s best IT School and Ghana’s most highly respected IT education company with an overall ranking of Eight across all industries in the prestigious Ghana Club 100 and the only it education company in the top 100 companies in 2005. Ghana needs to provide high quality IT base, and am proud to say NIIT is blazing the trail.”
Ashanti Dy. Regional Minister Hon. Osei Assibey Antwi officiating for Regional Minister. Hon. E.A. Owusu-Ansah, Prof. Steve Sobotie (Principal – College of Technology, Kumasi), Prof. Stephen A. Osei (Provost – College of Agric. & Renewal Resources, KNUST) and Regional Co-ordinator – Ghana Education Service were the other dignitaries at the august occasion.
Mr. Kapil Gupta (MD NIIT Ghana) commended the Graduands for their hard and sincere work which culiminated in this year's graduation and also, tasked them to work assiduously in thier civic and professional life.
The graduation ceremony was attended by a packed house of parents, guardians, fellow students, staff and well-wishers who were treated to a well-organised event, thanks to the wonderful team-work of the NIIT Kumasi management and team members.
